Beerdude; the difference is freshness. the becks brewed in australia by lion is chemically identical to that brewed in germany. the difference being 3 or 4 months in transit. the same rule applies for stella, miller (cub) heineken, kirin, birra moretti (lion) and a whole heap more. we alter our water to match that of germany’s. not heresay, fact. if you don’t like it, complain to beck’s in germany. to add to that, it’s a mental misconception. line up a german one next to an australian one then try to pick the difference. german ones now come in a plasticised carton.

Murray Pace; there’s a trend called “parallel importing.” if you can afford a container load of beer, you can bring it in considerably cheaper than the australian version. this explains why you can purcase beck’s, heineken, stella, tsingtao, corona all at >$50 per slab.. you couldn’t do that a few years ago. independant bottleshops are notorious for it. I can tell you that corona @ $58.00 per case is about a 9.5% margain, legitimate corona from cub. 9.5% after your finance and freight fee, then the labour and refridgeration, and other shop overheads almost equates to a loss. hence why you’ll see a heap of parallel stuff.

the basic gist of it is, if it isn’t brewed in australia or it’s actual original place of birth.. you’re getting screwed if you’re paying
