the ‘98 vintage was one of if not the finest beers ever brewed and up until ‘01 they were almost as good. unfortunately subsequent vintages, while still incredibly complex and better than 98% of anything you will find in your average bottle’o, do not live up to the benchmark set by the early releases. the ‘07 vintage still manages to invoke memories of the original but unfortunately as each year goes by it manages to taste more and more generic. we will just have to wait and see if they get better with age!
