I said I’d have a Little Creatures Pilsner at a little place we found out about from the Hotel Melbourne Australia. Claudia really did get he lamb salad, this is the place for lamb we thought,  and was blown away. I of course had the fish and chips which went down well with my beer. This Melbourne seems to be a beer drinking kind of place, at least from what we had seen. “Hey mate,” a big blond fellow with yellow teeth said to me. “You here for the cricket match?” he said in great Aussie fashion. “Naw man, I don’t know much about cricket,” I said in my best American fashion. “Here to see a few sights, check out the vibe,” I said. “Well, have you heard of a little place called the Federation Square, check it out, mate.” “Thanks,” I said as he trundled off. Well, we had to go now, and what a recommendation it was. We popped into the Ian Potter Center and saw a tremendous collection of folk art from Australia (of course) and when we were there  saw an exhibit of shoes, which delighted Claudia no end. Aboriginal art dominates the center and there are contemporary pieces here too. […]
