tried LCPA at the Macclesfield pub early Feb 09 with a pizza and was blown away by it. Drunk out of a pint glass, the citrussy floral aroma was superb, taste matched the aroma - with a long hoppy finish. The pizza reset the taste buds so the beer tasted great every mouthful. I’ve since finished two cartons at home and note the rush is not as good on an empty stomach, Still the great nose, but the buildup of bitterness on the tongue distracts. Gotta eat with it for best effect. This beer destroys Stella, Coopers Pale, anything from james Squire, and is only equalled in my opinion by Alpha pale ale and Knappstein Lager - both with a big whack of floral aroma hops. If i only could home brew this stuff…….mkrs
