It is such a nice interesting colour, quite smooth, creamy and sweet, rich flavoured and to a roasty, nutted aftertaste that makes this first choice lately. It is perhaps its middle flavour taste of ‘the-next-mornings-leftover’ that some people aren’t liking, like licking the Malt Shovel…
The Ye Olde stuff on the label reminds you of a time and method of making beer, just like they one they don’t use now.
Try this, and if you’re finding that you are actually after it’s opposite, a fresher, lighter and middle crisp, try their Golden Ale.
