Beer test results for Tooheys Old

In a blind test, our beer tasters came to the following conclusions:
Appearance: Dark, almost chocolate coloured beer, similar in colour to Coca-Cola.
Aroma/Bouquet: High intensity, roasted/toasted aroma with a hint of chocolate and licorice.
Taste: Full-bodied, creamy beer with chocolate toasted/roasted taste, good bitterness.
Summary: Average.

In a blind test of Tooheys Old, our tasters commented:

“Despite the slight taste of burned ash, it’s nice.”
“Someone overcooked this beer!”
“Interesting, unusual.”
“I don’t like the roasted taste.”
“It has an ash taste and is very dark. Is this Guinness?”

    Tooheys Old is a beer for drinkers with a mature palate not for people used to drinking lager style beers.

    The dark ale that dares to cock its leg at all the aussie lagers. This sadly is as close as we get to variety in the Aussie brewing industry

    Good stuff, the smokey taste gets a bit much after a few. great winter beer, not really a session beer though IMO.
