How to taste beer
Familiarise yourself with the fine art of beer tasting with our helpful beer tasting guide. This guide covers topics such as how to serve your beer, and also provides valuable information on how to assess the quality of your chosen beers.
When tasting beer, there are 3 major areas to be assessed:
- look
- smell
- taste.
In this guide, you will find information on what you should be looking for in these 3 areas, and what methods to follow to judge a beer’s performance.
It is therefore important that the beer is served in a manner that allows the taster to fully appreciate these qualities. To this end, a brief summary of how to serve beer has also been included. Why not check out the Tastebeer forum for more beer tips and how-tos or perhaps take our fun beer quiz and find out how well you know your stuff!
Use the menu on the right to navigate through the different sections of this guide. Enjoy your tasting!
